Brooke Shields earns TWICE what she spent on LA home

<p dir="ltr">Actress and model Brooke Shields has reportedly <a href="https://www.redfin.com/CA/Pacific-Palisades/1710-N-San-Remo-Dr-90272/home/6849498">sold</a> her LA home for $11 million - making a hefty $6.17 million profit in the process.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to <em><a href="https://www.dirt.com/gallery/entertainers/actors/brooke-shields-house-los-angeles-1203456072/brookeshields_pps15/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dirt</a></em>, Shields bought the five-bedroom, five-bathroom 1980s home for about $4.8 million in 1997, meaning she has collected double its original value.</p> <p dir="ltr">The opulent residence, located in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, features an airy living area with a functional fireplace and exposed beams, as well as a large balcony area with sweeping views of the canyon, and a marble-topped professional kitchen.</p> <p dir="ltr">On the second floor, the master suite boasts two fireplaces, a study nook, a free-standing tub, a sauna, and its own private balcony.</p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-8fdc7489-7fff-a777-1952-99b2ec0a9efd"></span></p> <p dir="ltr">Outside, the home’s second deck on the first floor is home to a lagoon-style pool and spa, accompanied by a lush lounge area.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Sports Illustrated model stalked with Apple AirTag

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Supermodel Brooks Nader says she was stalked by a stranger using an AirTag, who followed her around New York City for five hours. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 26-year-old said she only realised she was being tracked when her iPhone alerted her to the fact that an “unknown accessory” was moving with her through the city.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The AirTag, which was first released in April 2020, is a coin-shaped device that acts as a key tracker, with users connecting the small device to their smartphone to track lost items. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite the AirTag’s innovative technology, there have been numerous reports that the $45 device has been used by stalkers and thieves, to track people and their belongings without their knowing. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Brooks Nader appears to be the latest victim of this tracking, as she shared her terrifying ordeal with her online following of 827,000 people. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This ‘device’ followed me for the last five hours to every location and (it belonged to) no one in my ‘network.’ It also wasn’t a phone or tablet, it was an ‘item,’” she explained.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The model subsequently shared a screenshot of an AirTag via Instagram Stories: “@Apple, did you take into consideration the danger and potentially fatal consequences this device has?”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She added, “For those asking, it’s not my AirTag, it’s someone randoms, who must have slipped it into my belongings while out. Thank you all for checking in and sending helpful articles. I want this to be a PSA to all my ladies to please please check your belongings.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to Apple, they have introduced a system to prevent stalking by notifying people if their smartphone detects an unregistered AirTag in their vicinity. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“AirTag is designed to discourage unwanted tracking,” the tech company states on its website. “If someone else’s AirTag finds its way into your stuff, your iPhone will notice it’s travelling with you and send you an alert.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The alert is what tipped Nader off to the fact an AirTag was in her coat pocket.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A spokesperson for Apple told </span><a href="https://nypost.com/2022/01/07/sports-illustrated-model-is-latest-victim-of-airtag-stalker/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The New York Post</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, “We take customer safety very seriously and are committed to AirTag’s privacy and security. AirTag is designed with a set of proactive features to discourage unwanted tracking – a first in the industry – and the Find My network includes a smart, tunable system with deterrents that applies to AirTag, as well as third-party products as part of the Find My Network accessory program.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Due to the safety concerns of AirTags, several Aussie retailers including Big W, JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks have banned the sale of the devices. </span></p> <p><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Image credits: Instagram @brooksnader</span></em></p>

Dynasty star's shock death just 10 days after diagnosis

<p dir="ltr">American actor Michael Nader, who is known best for his starring role on the original <em>Dynasty</em>, has passed away at 76-years-old.</p> <p dir="ltr">Jodi Lister, his wife, took to social media to announce to the world the sad news.</p> <p dir="ltr">She revealed he died in his California home from untreatable cancer on August 23, only 10 days after being diagnosed.</p> <p dir="ltr">“His death and diagnosis was sudden and unexpected and I have never experienced such agony as watching my soulmate die before my eyes,” Lister wrote via Nader’s official Facebook page.</p> <p dir="ltr">“We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted. Recently, Michael was so thrilled to reconnect with his friends from the cast of Dynasty during Emma Samms virtual event to help raise funds for Long-Covid research.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills. Image: ABC / Getty Images</em></div> </div> </div> </div> <p dir="ltr">He also starred in the popular soap opera <em>All My Children</em> as Dimitri Marick, from 1991 to 2001, before he reprised the role in 2013.</p> <p dir="ltr">Nader has previously been open about his substance abuse issues, with Lister revealing he had been writing a book about his battles before his death.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He was working on a book about his life and addiction before he passed,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He had so many talents and skills and it’s hard to imagine living life without his beautiful and wonderful presence, joy and laughter.”</p> <p dir="ltr">His last and final project was the reprisal of his hit character on <em>All My Children</em>, back in 2013.</p> <p dir="ltr">Before his brief return, Nader told reporters he was “out of the game” and had made peace with the idea of never returning to act.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I did a couple of guest spots on Cold Case, and little things. Then I started drifting around and going to those, ‘Let’s see what they look like today interviews.’ And you know what? The industry has changed so much. It’s sit around and wait,” he told Michael Fairman in 2013.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I have a friend, a very good actor.</p> <p dir="ltr">“For seven years he did not get work. All of a sudden, he started to get some voiceover work, and it was enough to make a living in Hollywood. (Then) I got call that he had a cerebral haemorrhage in his sleep.</p> <p dir="ltr">“They found him three days later with his dogs around him. So he waited by the phone, he got a little bite of life, and then he was taken.</p> <p dir="ltr">“And I said, ‘You know, I am so lucky of what I did, and to live in this wonderful community in Lake Tahoe. I am at peace.’”</p> <p dir="ltr">Nader is survived by wife Lister, daughter Lindsay, stepmother Lillian and sister Stephanie.</p>

If you want to be in this Broadway show, you have to be this fit; you have to dance this much every day.”</span><br /><br /><span>She admitted however that her approach to other forms of fitness is not quite the same.</span><br /><br /><span>While also doing at-home weights-based training, Shields said she has signed up for “a live-streaming meditation led by Deepak Chopra on Facebook”.</span><br /><br /><span>“My family made fun of me, saying, ‘Oh, Mom is going to get all Zen now’.”</span><br /><br /><span>The star also mentioned she’d had a fitness “breakthrough” in quarantine.</span><br /><br /><span>“Before that, I’d never focused on the spiritual element of exercise or the idea of honouring your body and soul. Those were just words before; they didn’t feel realistic.”</span><br /><br /><span>She added that “working out has never been Zen” for her, as “everything was a goal” when it came to her motivation.</span></p>

<p>Donald Trump may hold the most powerful office in the world, but when it comes to his interactions with women, the US President doesn’t exactly have the best track record. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that the Don once asked ‘80s it girl Brooke Shields on a date – but was promptly turned down.</p> <p>Speaking on the E! talk show <em>Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen</em> on Tuesday, when pictures emerged of the two together, the actress was asked if Trump had hit on her. Shields replied, “No, but he did ask me out later.”</p> <p>“I didn’t go out [with him], he called me,” the 52-year-old actress and model clarified. “I was on location doing a movie, and he called me right after he had gotten a divorce [from Marla Maples] and said, ‘I really think we should date because you’re America’s Sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man and the people would love it.”</p> <p>Cringing as she recalled the awkward moment, Shields shut the future president down, saying, “I have a boyfriend and he’s not going to be happy about it.”</p> <p>The revelation comes just one week after an unearthed interview showed Trump making a number of disgraceful jokes and comments about Princess Diana, even after her death. <a href="/news/news/2017/09/donald-trumps-appalling-joke-about-princess-diana/" target="_blank"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Click here</strong></span></a> to read more.</p>

Gene Wilder passes away age 83

<p>The world has lost another irreplaceable icon with confirmation that legendary actor Gene Wilder has sadly passed away at age 83.</p> <p>Wilder, perhaps best-known for his role in the 1971 film <em>Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory</em>, passed on Monday at his home in Stamford, Connecticut. Confirmation of his passing came from the actor’s nephew, Jordan Walker-Pearlman, who said the passing was due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease in a statement to <a href="http://www.variety.com/"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Variety</strong></span></a>.</p> <p>Walker-Pearlman wrote, “We understand for all the emotional and physical challenges this situation presented we have been among the lucky ones — this illness-pirate, unlike in so many cases, never stole his ability to recognise those that were closest to him, nor took command of his central-gentle-life affirming core personality.</p> <p>“The decision to wait until this time to disclose his condition wasn’t vanity, but more so that the countless young children that would smile or call out to him ‘there’s Willy Wonka,’ would not have to be then exposed to an adult referencing illness or trouble and causing delight to travel to worry, disappointment or confusion.
